Brook House Hops, the UK’s largest hop grower, has achieved certification to ISO 9001 standard, by BSI, under certificate FS 749609. ISO 9001 is an internationally recognised framework that specifies requirements for quality management systems (QMS) and in this case is related to the purchase and storage of hops, their processing and shipment to end customers.
Organisations use the standard to demonstrate their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. For Brook House Hops this means direct supply of hops, malt and yeast to brewers across the UK and overseas, rather than through a traditional hop merchant.
This new approach was established to give brewers more flexibility in their choices and faster, direct access to the very best home-grown UK hops, as well some of the most sought-after hops from the USA, NZ and Europe.
Gareth Price, Operations Director at Brook House Hops, outlines the importance of this to the organisation and its rapidly growing customer base;
“The team at Brook House Hops work tirelessly to ensure that we provide the best quality products, with the best service and the tightest controls, to our customers. With such a rapidly expanding business it has been essential to get the framework right and ensure that every member of the team adopts our core policies. We are incredibly proud that, through BSI, we have been able to achieve accreditation to the level of ISO 9001:2015.
We know that the way we operate has set new standards within the industry and it has enabled us to give a far more fluid and dedicated service to our customers. This accreditation shows that the standards we employ can give confidence to all of our customers that our emphasis is on making sure we deliver the best products, with the highest levels of satisfaction. This is mirrored in every part of our business.
I couldn’t be prouder of the team we have built and everything that they have achieved.”
