What do Motueka hops taste like?
Motueka hops are a New Zealand-grown variety that is known for their citrusy and herbal flavours. They have a strong aroma that is often described as being floral, tropical, and lemony. Some brewers also note hints of black pepper and mint in Motueka hops. The bitterness is also relatively low, which makes them a popular choice for Pale Ales and IPAs.
What hops pair well with Motueka?
There are many hops that pair well with Motueka, but some of our favourites include Citra, Amarillo, and Simcoe. These hops all share the same citrusy character as Motueka, and they also blend well with the malt flavours in beer. For example, Citra and Amarillo hops can be used in conjunction with Mosaic hops to create a delicious New England Style IPA (NEIPA).
