El Dorado® was developed in 2008, and released in 2010 by CLS Farms in the Moxee,
Washington. Some say it’s the grandchild of a native wild hops found in Colorado.

El Dorado® definitely has intense, wild aromas such as those of stone fruit, particularly cherry and apricot. Other aromas may include pear, a zest of citrus, and watermelon; possibly bold enough to seem candied like refreshers.

Spicy notes are low key, playing second fiddle to the strong fruit, but brews may have a background hint of grass, wood, and mint.

A product of the Yakima Valley’s cooler climate, El Dorado® features a uniquely fruity flavour profile in addition to desirable bittering and aromatic properties. It is a great dual purpose hop, giving a firm and subtly balanced bitterness, or when used later in the boil, a very fruity brew with grassy undertones. When using as a dry-hop, that is when you see the zesty and tangy notes come out.
