El Dorado® was developed in 2008, and released in 2010 by CLS Farms in Moxee, Washington. Some say it’s the grandchild of native wild hops found in Colorado.

El Dorado® definitely has intense, wild aromas such as those of stone fruit, particularly cherry and apricot. Other aromas may include pear, zest of citrus, and watermelon; possibly bold enough to seem candied like refreshers.

Spicy notes are low-key, playing second fiddle to the strong fruit, but brews may have a background hint of grass, wood, and mint.

A product of the Yakima Valley’s cooler climate, El Dorado® features a uniquely fruity flavour profile in addition to desirable bittering and aromatic properties. It is a great dual-purpose hop, giving a firm and subtly balanced bitterness, or when used later in the boil, a very fruity brew with grassy undertones. When using it as a dry-hop, that is when you see the zesty and tangy notes come out.

El Dorado is a unique hop variety that has a tropical fruit flavour and aroma. It is often used in IPAs and pale ales and can be paired with a wide range of hops. Some of the most popular hops to pair with El Dorado include Citra, Simcoe, and Amarillo. These hops all have strong citrus flavours that complement the tropical fruit notes of El Dorado. They also add bitterness and aromas that balance out the sweetness of the hop.

The El Dorado hop variety is known for imparting a distinct pineapple flavour to beer. This hop is often used in fruity IPAs and pale ales, where its tropical fruit character can shine through. With its sweet, juicy aroma, El Dorado can add a touch of sunshine to any brew.

CTZ hops are a type of hop that is used for its bitterness. Also referred to as Columbus CTZ, it is a high alpha variety, which means that it has a high level of bitterness. It is also a high-yield variety, meaning that it produces a lot of bitterness. This hop is often used in IPAs and other hoppy beers.

Hopslist is a great resource for doing hop research for your next brew. The El Dorado hop variety is a newer breed of hops that has been making a big impression in the craft beer world. This hop is known for its tropical fruit flavours, including pineapple, papaya, and mango. It also has some citrus notes and a slightly spicy character. This makes it a great choice for IPAs and other hoppy beers.
